Overview
This policy explains what information FunChatX collects when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices available to you. FunChatX is designed around anonymity: we intentionally collect as little identifying information as possible to operate the service.
Information we collect
Because FunChatX doesn't require an account to use, we collect far less than a typical social platform. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Session information — a temporary nickname, the channel you joined, and connection timestamps, kept only for the duration needed to operate the matching system and investigate reports.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (city/region level) inferred from your connection, used for security, abuse prevention, and basic analytics.
- Report content — if you or another user files a report, the relevant portion of that conversation is retained for moderation review.
- Contact form submissions — if you email us or use the contact form, we keep the message and any reply address you provide to respond to you.
We do not require your real name, phone number, or a persistent account to use the core chat features.
How we use information
- To operate random matching and keep channels functioning.
- To detect abuse, spam, and violations of the conduct policy described in our Safety Center.
- To respond to support requests and legal process where applicable.
- To understand aggregate usage (for example, which channels are busiest) so we can improve the site.
Cookies & advertising
FunChatX and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to keep the site functioning, measure traffic, and show relevant advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendor use of cookies by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page, where available in your region.
Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with:
- Service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, moderation tooling), under confidentiality obligations.
- Law enforcement, when legally required to respond to valid legal process, or to prevent imminent harm.
- Advertising partners, limited to the technical and cookie-based data described above.
Retention
Session and matching data is kept only as long as needed to run the service, typically a short rolling window. Reported conversation content is retained longer for moderation and safety review. Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to resolve your request.
Your choices
Because chat sessions aren't tied to a persistent account, there's no profile to delete in the traditional sense. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, opt out of personalized ads through the tools above, and contact us if you have a specific data request related to a report you filed or a message you sent us.
Children's privacy
FunChatX is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided us information, we will delete it and take steps to end that access.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
